Cosmed’s services included sterilization of medical devices, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food. The company also offered fumigation treatment of fruits and vegetables. Cosmed built on an initial expertise in 100% ethylene oxide gas-based sterilization technology and offered an array of sterilization services. The company grew to eight plants and more than 150 employees. Cosmed sold its medical device sterilization operations to Steris Corp. (Nyse: STE) in 2004 and continues to provide food-related sterilization and fumigation.
