RSA Security provided software and services to protect online identities and digital assets. It offered strong authentication and encryption software designed to help organizations realize the benefits of transacting business electronically, while helping to protect critical resources and applications from unauthorized access. RSA Data Security was acquired by Security Dynamics in an all-stock deal in 1996 and changed its name to RSA Security in 1999. In 2006, RSA Security was acquired by EMC Corp.
